Rat COL3/CollagenIII ELISA Kit

Assay Genie's Sandwich ELISA kit is engineered for the quantitative detection of type III collagen in rat samples. Validated for serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid sample types, the assay is suited to research into collagen metabolism and tissue remodelling. Type III collagen is a key component of the extracellular matrix and helps maintain the structural integrity of connective tissues, with dysregulation implicated in fibrosis, wound healing, and cardiovascular diseases.

The kit offers a sensitivity of 37.5 pg/mL and a working range of 62.5-4000 pg/mL. Detection is colorimetric, using a TMB substrate with absorbance read at 450 nm. The protocol includes a 90-minute primary incubation at 37°C, followed by biotin-labelled detection antibody and HRP-Streptavidin binding steps, with TMB colour development in the dark for 10–20 minutes before the stop reaction.

Linearity has been confirmed for serum (85-102% at 1:2, 89-100% at 1:4, 89-99% at 1:8), EDTA plasma (87-99% at 1:2, 90-96% at 1:4, 83-89% at 1:8), and heparin plasma (85-101% at 1:2, 88-101% at 1:4, 80-96% at 1:8) samples. Recovery ranges are 86-97% (average 92%) for serum, 92-103% (average 97%) for EDTA plasma, and 85-105% (average 96%) for heparin plasma. Components are stored at 2-8°C for 12 months, with the microplate and lyophilized standard additionally suitable for 12-month storage at -20°C.
