Chromogranin A (CHGA) is an acidic glycoprotein stored in the secretory granules of neuroendocrine cells, where it co-localizes with peptide hormones and catecholamines. Quantifying circulating CHGA in rat models supports investigations into neuroendocrine tumor biology, stress-axis activation, cardiac hypertrophy, and pancreatic islet function. Researchers studying pheochromocytoma, carcinoid tumors, or gut-derived hormone secretion rely on CHGA measurements as a surrogate marker of granule exocytosis. This Assay Genie kit provides quantitative readouts applicable to translational rodent studies, including in vivo cardiovascular and endocrine research protocols. The immunoassay format uses a pre-coated microplate; bound analyte is detected with a biotinylated secondary antibody and streptavidin-HRP conjugate. A typical run uses 50 µL of sample per well, and the chromogenic reaction produces a measurable signal proportional to CHGA concentration, allowing interpolation against a supplied standard curve. For best results, store all reagents refrigerated, protect the substrate solution from light, and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles of reconstituted standards. Aliquot working volumes before freezing when possible. Each kit contains sufficient reagents for 96 individual determinations and is intended for research use only.
