Rat CD59 glycoprotein (Cd59) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative measurement of CD59 glycoprotein in rat samples, including serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay uses a double-antibody sandwich format with colorimetric detection at 450 nm, employing biotin-conjugated detection antibody, HRP-conjugated avidin and TMB substrate. CD59 is a GPI-anchored cell membrane glycoprotein that acts as a potent inhibitor of the complement membrane attack complex (MAC), binding C8 and/or C9 to prevent pore formation, with reported roles in T-cell signal transduction.

The kit detects natural and recombinant rat CD59 glycoprotein, with a detection range of 0.156-10ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.081ng/mL. Reported precision values include an intra-assay CV of 6.8% and an inter-assay CV of 11.3%. Linearity in serum (N=5) is reported as 101-111% (1:2), 107-118% (1:4), 102-111% (1:8) and 100-110% (1:16), with EDTA plasma showing 83-83%, 98-108%, 94-106% and 105-114% across the same dilutions, and heparin plasma showing 89-99%, 82-92%, 95-106% and 99-109%. Recovery is given as 97% (range 91-103%) for serum and 99% (range 93-105%) for plasma. The kit also includes validated Bradford Reagent for total protein normalisation and is supplied with components such as a microplate, lyophilised standard, sample and assay diluents, detection reagents A and B, wash buffer, substrate, stop solution and plate sealers.
