Description
A sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative measurement of CD166 antigen (ALCAM) in rat samples. The assay reacts with rat CD166 and shows specificity for natural and recombinant rat CD166 antigen, and is intended for research use only.
Validated sample types include serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids. The kit has a detection range of 0.156–10 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.078 ng/mL. Reported precision values are an intra-assay CV of 4.4% and an inter-assay CV of 7.8%. Recovery is documented for serum (average 95%, range 89–101%) and plasma (average 97%, range 91–103%). Linearity has been assessed across 1:2 to 1:16 dilutions in serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma, with values such as 103–113% to 97–107% in serum, 98–106% to 103–114% in EDTA plasma, and 106–106% to 94–105% in heparin plasma.
CD166, also known as activated leukocyte cell adhesion molecule (with synonyms HB2, KG-CAM, Protein MEMD, and SB-10 antigen), is a cell surface glycoprotein involved in heterotypic and homotypic cell–cell adhesion. The target is associated with T-cell activation through interaction with CD6, the formation and maturation of the immunological synapse, attachment of dendritic cells to endothelial cells, endothelial tube formation, hematopoietic stem cell engraftment, and neurite extension and axon guidance. The associated UniProt entry is O35112.
