Rat CAV1/Caveolin-1 protein ELISA Kit

This Sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie is designed for the quantification of caveolin-1 (CAV1) in rat samples. Caveolin-1 is a protein involved in regulating signal transduction, cholesterol homeostasis, and endocytosis, and its dysregulation has been linked to cancer, cardiovascular disorders, and metabolic syndromes, making it an important biomarker for research applications.

The assay uses a double-antibody sandwich format with colorimetric detection and offers a sensitivity of 9.375 pg/mL, with a measurable range of 15.625-1000 pg/mL. Validated sample types include serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. Linear dilution performance for serum is 89-103% at 1:2, 86-101% at 1:4, and 92-98% at 1:8, while recovery in serum averages 97% (range 87-102%). The kit is stored at 2-8°C for 12 months.

The protocol proceeds in six steps: equilibrate reagents and the TMB substrate, load standards and samples onto the pre-coated plate and incubate at 37°C for 90 minutes, add biotin-labeled detection antibody and incubate at 37°C for 60 minutes, add HRP-Streptavidin (SABC) and incubate at 37°C for 30 minutes, develop color with TMB substrate in the dark for 10-20 minutes, and stop the reaction to read absorbance at 450 nm.
