Rat Caspase 14 (CASP14) ELISA Kit

Caspase 14 is a non-apoptotic cysteine protease expressed predominantly by differentiating keratinocytes of the epidermis, where it participates in filaggrin processing and the assembly of the cornified envelope that forms the skin's protective barrier. Unlike executioner caspases that drive apoptosis, CASP14 activity is largely confined to terminal keratinocyte maturation, making its quantification a useful readout of epidermal homeostasis. Investigators studying cutaneous differentiation, barrier dysfunction, and stratified epithelial biology can measure rat CASP14 protein with this colorimetric ELISA from Assay Genie, supplied as a 96-assay kit validated for tissue homogenates.
