Description

Assay Genie offers a Sandwich ELISA Kit designed for the quantitative detection of rat Casein kinase II subunit alpha (Csnk2a1), also known by the synonym CK II alpha. The assay is reactive with rat samples and uses a colorimetric detection method, with readings taken on a microplate reader. Specificity is defined for natural and recombinant rat Casein kinase II subunit alpha, and the kit is intended for research use only, with cancer identified as the primary research area.

According to the manufacturer's specifications, the kit has a detection range of 78-5000pg/mL and a sensitivity of 34pg/mL. Reported precision values are an intra-assay CV of 3.8% and an inter-assay CV of 7.5%. The target analyte is detected in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. Linearity in serum ranges from 95-105% at 1:2 dilution to 94-104% at 1:16, with EDTA plasma and heparin plasma showing comparable recovery across dilutions. Reported recovery averages 80% for serum (range 80-85%) and 81% for plasma (range 80-87%).

Csnk2a1 functions as the catalytic subunit of a constitutively active serine/threonine-protein kinase complex that phosphorylates a large number of substrates containing acidic residues C-terminal to the phosphorylated serine or threonine, and is localized to the nucleus. The kit includes an 8×12 strip ELISA microplate along with lyophilized standard, diluents, detection reagents, wash buffer, substrate and stop solution.
