Rat CART/Cocaine- and amphetamine-regulated transcript ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA, double antibody assay from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative measurement of rat CART (Cocaine- and Amphetamine-Regulated Transcript) in serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. The kit uses a colorimetric detection method with read-out at 450 nm following TMB substrate development. Storage is recommended at 2-8°C for 12 months.

The assay reports a sensitivity of 0.188 ng/mL and a working range of 0.313-20 ng/mL. Linearity has been validated in serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma across dilution ratios of 1:2, 1:4, and 1:8, with recovery ranging from 86-105% in serum, 87-97% in EDTA plasma, and 92-105% in heparin plasma. The protocol involves primary incubation at 37°C for 90 minutes, biotin-labelled detection antibody for 60 minutes, HRP-streptavidin for 30 minutes, and TMB colour development for 10-20 minutes in the dark before stop solution is added.

CART protein plays a pivotal role in regulating appetite, energy balance, and stress response, and is implicated in substance abuse disorders such as addiction to cocaine and amphetamines, making this kit relevant to addiction research and related therapeutic investigations.
