Rat Carboxylesterase 5A/CES5A ELISA Kit

A competitive ELISA from Assay Genie designed for quantitative measurement of Carboxylesterase 5A (CES5A) in rat serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. The assay uses a biotin-labelled antibody and HRP-streptavidin conjugate with TMB substrate, with absorbance read at 450 nm.

Performance specifications include a sensitivity of 0.188 ng/mL and a detection range of 0.313–20 ng/mL. Dilutional linearity was demonstrated in serum (98–104%, 85–103%, 86–103% at 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8 respectively; n=10), EDTA plasma (84–100%, 83–94%, 95–104%; n=10) and heparin plasma (90–102%, 92–101%, 88–95%; n=10). Spike-and-recovery averages were 94% for serum, 95% for EDTA plasma and 93% for heparin plasma. Reagents are stored sealed at 2–8°C and should not be cryopreserved.

CES5A (UniProt Q5GRG2; also known as Cauxin, carboxylesterase-like urinary excreted protein homolog, and epididymis-specific gene 615 protein) is an enzyme implicated in xenobiotic and drug metabolism, with dysregulation reported in metabolic disorders, neurological conditions and drug-induced toxicities.
