Rat CAPN2/Calpain 2 ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA (Double Antibody) is designed for the quantitative measurement of calpain 2 (CAPN2) in rat samples. According to the manufacturer, calpain 2 is a protease involved in cellular processes including migration, proliferation and apoptosis, and its dysregulation has been implicated in muscular dystrophy, Alzheimer's disease and cancer. The assay uses a colorimetric readout and is validated for serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples, with reactivity limited to rat specimens.

Manufacturer-reported performance includes a sensitivity of 46.875 pg/mL and a standard curve range of 78.125–5000 pg/mL. Linearity across 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8 dilutions is reported at 86–99%, 89–101% and 91–100% for serum, 86–96%, 85–98% and 91–100% for EDTA plasma, and 85–103%, 90–95% and 91–99% for heparin plasma (n = 5 each). Spike-and-recovery values are 97–104% (average 99%) for serum, 96–105% (average 99%) for EDTA plasma, and 96–102% (average 90%) for heparin plasma. Kit components are stored at 2–8°C for 12 months.
