Rat CAPN1 (calpain 1) ELISA Kit (RTES01150)

A quantitative enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for calpain-1 (μ-calpain, the calcium-activated neutral cysteine protease) in rat-derived specimens, supplied as part of the Assay Genie research reagent line. Calpain 1 cleaves a wide range of cytoskeletal, membrane, and signaling substrates, so measuring its abundance underpins work on muscle proteostasis, neurodegeneration, ischemic injury, and apoptotic cascade studies.

Run on a standard microplate using a two-antibody capture-and-detection configuration, with signal generated through an enzyme-substrate reaction and read as absorbance per well. Each kit provides 96 assays, enough for a full standard curve run with internal controls and replicate wells. Sample is introduced in aqueous buffer and interpolated against purified calpain 1 reference calibrators.

Intended for research use only and tuned for in vitro applications such as serum-based biomarker profiling, tissue homogenate quantitation, and cell-lysate work in rat preclinical models. The antibody pairs are matched to the rat CAPN1 gene product and have not been validated against other species, so investigators should confirm dilution linearity in their matrix before committing to a screen.
