Using a colorimetric detection method, the assay delivers a sensitivity of 0.469 ng/mL and a detection range of 0.781–50 ng/mL, supporting a variety of research applications.

Calpain 5 is a key enzyme involved in protein turnover, signal transduction, and cytoskeletal remodeling, with dysregulation implicated in muscular dystrophy, neurodegenerative disorders, and cancer, highlighting its importance as a biomarker for disease progression and therapeutic development. Linearity testing at 1:2, 1:4, and 1:8 dilutions returned 88–95%, 84–100%, and 81–95% for serum; 94–103%, 86–100%, and 80–100% for EDTA plasma; and 85–102%, 88–101%, and 82–98% for heparin plasma. Average recovery across the same matrices was 93%, 97%, and 94% respectively. The kit is stored sealed at 2–8°C and should not be cryopreserved.
