Calcitonin Gene Related Peptide (CGRP) is a 37-amino acid neuropeptide produced chiefly in sensory neurons of the trigeminal ganglion, where it functions as a potent vasodilator and a key mediator in migraine pathophysiology. It is also implicated in neurogenic inflammation, making it a frequent biomarker in neurological and cardiovascular research. This Assay Genie competitive ELISA enables quantitative measurement of CGRP across many rat-derived sample matrices. Researchers commonly apply this kit to investigate trigeminal nerve activation, nociceptive signaling, and inflammatory pain in rodent models of migraine, arthritis, and cardiovascular disease.
Each kit contains a pre-coated microplate, lyophilized standards, detection reagents, wash buffer, TMB substrate, and stop solution sufficient for 96 assays. Reagents should be stored refrigerated and protected from light; reconstituted standards should be aliquoted and frozen to limit freeze-thaw cycles. Assay Genie provides full protocol support, and the kit is validated for research use only with rat samples, typically delivering standard-curve recovery between 80% and 120%.
