Rat Calcitonin ELISA Kit

The Rat Calcitonin ELISA Kit uses a double-antibody sandwich ELISA format with colorimetric detection and is intended for research use across a range of sample matrices including serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. Calcitonin is a hormone involved in regulating calcium levels and bone metabolism, and abnormalities have been linked to various bone disorders, making it a useful biomarker for bone health and endocrinology research.

The assay delivers a sensitivity of 9.375 pg/mL with a working range of 15.625–1000 pg/mL. Reported linearity across dilutions (1:2, 1:4, 1:8) falls within 85–104% for serum, 91–102% for EDTA plasma, and 86–105% for heparin plasma. Spike-and-recovery values are reported as 86–102% for serum (average 93%), 90–102% for EDTA plasma (average 94%), and 86–103% for heparin plasma (average 93%).

Reagents are stored at 2–8°C for 12 months according to the manufacturer's instructions. The workflow uses a biotinylated detection antibody, HRP-streptavidin (SABC) and TMB substrate, with absorbance read at 450 nm after a stop step.
