Rat CACNA1A ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative measurement of CACNA1A in rat samples. The double antibody sandwich format uses colorimetric detection, with a sensitivity of 0.188 ng/mL and an assay range of 0.313-20 ng/mL.

Validated for serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate and other liquid samples, the kit is stored at 2-8°C for 12 months. Linearity was demonstrated at 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8 dilutions in serum (85-103%, 86-101%, 92-100%), EDTA plasma (88-100%, 82-99%, 84-99%) and heparin plasma (88-104%, 83-93%, 81-90%). Recovery ranges were 85-98% (average 90%) for serum, 87-105% (average 94%) for EDTA plasma and 86-104% (average 97%) for heparin plasma.

The protocol proceeds through reagent equilibration, sample loading and primary incubation at 37°C for 90 minutes, biotin-labeled detection antibody binding for 60 minutes, HRP-Streptavidin binding for 30 minutes, TMB substrate color development in the dark for 10-20 minutes, and absorbance reading at 450 nm after stop solution. CACNA1A is a key protein in calcium ion channel function with roles in neurotransmission and muscle contraction, and its dysregulation has been linked to migraine, epilepsy and ataxia.
