Description

A high-quality sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie designed for quantitative measurement of Bone Morphogenetic Protein Receptor II (BMPR-II) in rat samples. The assay uses a double-antibody sandwich format with colorimetric detection and is validated for serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. Reagents are to be stored at 2-8°C for 12 months.

BMPR-II is a key receptor of the bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) signaling pathway, playing a critical role in regulating bone and cartilage development as well as vascular function. Dysregulation of BMPR-II signaling has been implicated in pulmonary arterial hypertension and certain cancers, highlighting the receptor's value as a biomarker for studying these conditions. The kit offers reliable quantitative analysis of BMPR-II levels to support researchers investigating BMP signaling in health and disease.

Performance characteristics: a sensitivity of 46.875 pg/mL and a standard curve range of 78.125-5000 pg/mL. Spike-and-recovery in serum is 86-98% (average 91%), in EDTA plasma 87-102% (average 96%), and in heparin plasma 91-105% (average 97%). Linearity across 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8 dilutions spans 80-105% for serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma samples. The workflow uses a pre-coated plate with primary incubation at 37°C for 90 minutes, biotin-labelled detection antibody incubation for 60 minutes, HRP-Streptavidin binding for 30 minutes, TMB color development for 10-20 minutes in the dark, and absorbance reading at 450 nm after the stop solution.
