Rat BMP6 ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie designed for the accurate and sensitive detection of BMP6 (bone morphogenetic protein 6) in rat samples. Using a double antibody format, the assay is validated for serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell lysis buffer or tissue lysis buffer, and other biological fluid samples, with colorimetric readout via TMB substrate and absorbance measurement at 450 nm.

Linearity was assessed at 1:2, 1:4, and 1:8 dilutions in serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma, with overall observed values of 84-103% for serum, 80-103% for EDTA plasma, and 87-105% for heparin plasma. Recovery in serum ranged 90-105% (average 95%), in EDTA plasma 89-105% (average 96%), and in heparin plasma 86-97% (average 92%). BMP6 is a signaling molecule implicated in bone formation, embryonic development, and tissue regeneration, with dysregulation linked to osteoporosis, cancer, and inflammatory disorders, making it a biomarker of interest in cell biology research.

The protocol involves equilibrating reagents to room temperature, a 90-minute primary incubation at 37°C, a 60-minute biotin-labeled detection antibody incubation, a 30-minute HRP-streptavidin binding step, TMB color development in the dark for 10-20 minutes, and immediate absorbance measurement after stop solution addition. All components are stored at 2-8°C for up to 12 months.
