Rat Betacellulin ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie designed for the precise quantitative measurement of betacellulin in rat samples. The kit is reactive with rat and accepts serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. Betacellulin is a growth factor involved in cell proliferation and differentiation, particularly in pancreatic beta-cell function and insulin secretion, and its dysregulation has been linked to metabolic disorders.

The assay uses a double-antibody sandwich format with colorimetric detection, and absorbance is read at 450 nm. The kit reports a sensitivity of 5.625 pg/mL and a measurable range of 9.375–600 pg/mL. Linearity has been validated across 1:2, 1:4, and 1:8 dilutions for serum (92-103%, 87-100%, 88-103%), EDTA plasma (83-97%, 88-98%, 83-100%), and heparin plasma (87-99%, 82-98%, 81-100%). Recovery averages are 94% for serum, 94% for EDTA plasma, and 93% for heparin plasma. Unopened components are stored at 2-8°C for 12 months.

The workflow includes reagent and plate preparation, primary incubation at 37°C for 90 minutes, biotin-labeled detection antibody incubation at 37°C for 60 minutes, HRP-Streptavidin binding for 30 minutes, TMB color development in the dark for 10–20 minutes, and absorbance reading at 450 nm after stop solution addition. Serum is clotted and centrifuged at 1000 × g for 20 minutes; plasma is collected with anticoagulant and centrifuged at 1000 × g for 15 minutes at 2–8°C; cell culture supernatant is clarified at 2500 rpm for 5 minutes.
