Beta-defensin 3, also known as Defensin beta 3 or BD-3, is a secreted antimicrobial peptide with bactericidal activity, encoded by the Defb3 gene (NCBI Gene ID: 641623; UniProt: Q32ZI4). The protein has a molecular weight of 7,082 Da. The kit is intended for research use only and supports studies of immune defence and bacterial infection in rat models.
