Rat Beta Crosslaps/beta-CTx ELISA Kit

A competitive colorimetric ELISA from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative measurement of beta crosslaps (β-CTX) in rat samples. The microplate is pre-coated with antigen, and the assay uses a biotinylated detection antibody with an HRP-streptavidin conjugate and TMB substrate for colorimetric readout at 450 nm.

Validated for use with serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysates, and other liquid samples. The kit reports a sensitivity of 75 pg/mL and a working range of 125-8000 pg/mL. β-CTX is a biomarker of bone resorption and turnover; elevated levels are associated with conditions such as osteoporosis, bone fractures, and metabolic bone diseases, supporting research into bone metabolism, bone disorders, and therapeutic interventions.

Storage is at 2-8°C in sealed packaging; the kit should not be cryopreserved. The protocol involves equilibrating TMB substrate for 30 minutes at room temperature, adding 50 µL of standard or sample followed by 50 µL of biotin-labeled antibody per well, incubating at 37°C for 45 minutes, washing, developing color with TMB substrate in the dark at 37°C for 10-20 minutes, stopping the reaction, and reading absorbance at 450 nm.
