Rat ATPase, Na+/K+ Transporting Alpha 1 Polypeptide (ATP1a1) ELISA Kit

Assay Genie's immunoassay kit enables quantitative measurement of the rat ATP1a1 catalytic subunit of Na+/K+ ATPase in tissue homogenate samples. The Na+/K+ ATPase is a ubiquitous P-type ATPase that uses ATP hydrolysis to pump three Na+ ions out of the cell in exchange for two K+ ions, maintaining the electrochemical gradient essential for neuronal firing, secondary active transport, and osmotic balance. ATP1a1, the dominant alpha isoform in most rat tissues, is a frequent biomarker in studies of cardiac ischemia-reperfusion injury, salt-sensitive hypertension, and renal tubular function, where its abundance and activity shift with disease state and pharmacological intervention.

Each kit provides the components for one microplate run, including a pre-coated assay plate, lyophilized standards, biotinylated detection antibody, streptavidin-HRP conjugate, wash and dilution buffers, substrate, and stop solution, supplied in individual vials. The standard curve is generated from a serial dilution of recombinant ATP1a1, and absorbance readings are taken on a standard plate reader after the substrate reaction. Researchers should aliquot and store the reconstituted standards according to the insert, and samples should be prepared as clarified homogenates to minimize interference.
