Rat Ataxin 1 ELISA Kit

Designed for the precise measurement of ataxin-1 in rat samples, this Sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie uses a double-antibody format with colorimetric detection. Ataxin-1 is a protein involved in neurodegenerative disorders such as Spinocerebellar ataxia type 1 (SCA1), and detecting its levels can support research into disease pathogenesis and potential therapeutic targets.

Validated sample types include serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. Manufacturer specifications report a sensitivity of 0.188 ng/mL and a working range of 0.313–20 ng/mL. In spike-and-recovery testing at 1:2, 1:4, and 1:8 dilutions (n=5), linearity was 85–102%, 85–93%, and 86–104% in serum; 84–99%, 88–100%, and 83–98% in EDTA plasma; and 82–98%, 82–100%, and 84–96% in heparin plasma. Average recovery was 99% in serum (range 90–104%), 93% in EDTA plasma (range 85–102%), and 92% in heparin plasma (range 87–99%). The kit is stored at 2–8°C for 12 months.

The assay procedure includes equilibrating reagents to room temperature, a 90-minute primary incubation at 37°C, a 60-minute biotin-labeled detection antibody step, a 30-minute HRP-streptavidin step, TMB substrate development in the dark for 10–20 minutes, and absorbance reading at 450 nm after addition of stop solution.
