Rat AQP2/Aquaporin-2 ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie designed for the accurate quantitative detection of Aquaporin-2 (AQP2) in rat serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysates, and other liquid samples. Using a double-antibody format with a colorimetric readout, the assay supports research into fluid balance, kidney physiology, and related renal disorders, where AQP2 serves as a key biomarker for assessing kidney function.

Key performance characteristics include a sensitivity of 0.938 ng/mL and an assay range of 1.563–100 ng/mL. Linearity in serum is 88–105% at 1:2, 91–103% at 1:4 and 85–105% at 1:8; EDTA plasma shows 83–96%, 88–99% and 85–97% at the same dilutions; heparin plasma shows 89–99%, 81–97% and 80–92%. Spike-and-recovery averages are 95% for serum (range 90–100%), 98% for EDTA plasma (89–105%) and 91% for heparin plasma (87–97%). AQP2 is a membrane protein central to water reabsorption in the renal collecting duct, and dysregulation of its expression has been implicated in a range of renal conditions.

The kit targets rat AQP2 (UniProt P34080), also referred to as AQP-2, Aquaporin-2, Water channel protein for renal collecting duct, WCH-CD, Collecting duct water channel protein, ADH water channel, Aquaporin-CD and AQP-CD.
