Apelin is a regulatory peptide involved in cardiovascular function, metabolic processes, and fluid homeostasis, and its dysregulation has been associated with heart failure, obesity, and diabetes. Reported linearity for serum (n=10) is 92-105% at 1:2, 85-100% at 1:4, and 81-98% at 1:8. EDTA plasma (n=10) gives 91-104%, 83-98%, and 84-98% across the same dilutions, while heparin plasma (n=10) gives 85-104%, 86-101%, and 80-99%. Average recovery is 95% for serum (range 90-98%), 94% for EDTA plasma (87-102%), and 96% for heparin plasma (90-103%).
