A quantitative immunoassay from Assay Genie measures the alpha subunit of the amiloride-sensitive epithelial sodium channel (SCNN1A, also called ENaCα) in rat-derived specimens, supporting research into the ENaC complex that mediates sodium reabsorption across tight epithelia in the kidney collecting duct, distal colon, and airway mucosa. SCNN1A is a target of interest in studies of salt-sensitive hypertension, Liddle syndrome pathogenesis, pulmonary fluid clearance, and pseudohypoaldosteronism type I. The kit is formatted for 96 assays per package and is intended for research use only, supporting laboratory workflows in renal physiology, respiratory biology, and ion-channel pharmacology.

Validated specimen types include serum-derived, plasma-derived, and tissue homogenate preparations, as well as additional body fluids recovered during animal-model studies. Immunoassay methodology is employed with a chromogenic endpoint suitable for routine spectrophotometric plate readers. Unopened kit components should be stored refrigerated; reagent stability and expiry information are provided in the lot-specific certificate of analysis included with each shipment.

This product is part of the Assay Genie catalogue of rat-specific biomarker reagents and is supplied in a microplate-based configuration ready for high-throughput screening of experimental cohorts.
