Rat alpha-Glu (Alpha Glucosidase) ELISA Kit (RTES00893)

A Sandwich ELISA developed by Assay Genie for the quantitative measurement of alpha-glucosidase (alpha-Glu) levels in rat samples. The kit is validated for use with serum, plasma, and other biological fluids, and uses a colorimetric detection method with absorbance read at 450 nm ± 2 nm. The pre-coated microplate is incubated with standards or samples, followed by a biotinylated detection antibody specific for rat alpha-Glu and an Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate; the resulting colour change is proportional to analyte concentration and is quantified against a standard curve.

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 1.56–100 ng/mL, a sensitivity of 0.94 ng/mL, a sample volume requirement of 100 µL per well, and a total assay time of 4.5 h. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between rat alpha-Glu and analogues was observed. Alpha-glucosidase is a key enzyme in carbohydrate metabolism, and its dysregulation has been linked to metabolic disorders such as diabetes and Pompe disease, making this kit a useful tool for investigating these conditions in rat models.

Spike-and-recovery across matrices was assessed in serum, EDTA plasma, and cell culture media, with average recoveries of 90%, 92%, and 101%, respectively. Intra-assay precision (CV) across three sample levels ranged from 3.27% to 6.32%, and inter-assay precision from 3.68% to 6.46%. Unopened kits may be stored at 4°C for 1 month, with individual components stored at either 4°C or -20°C for 6 months according to the manufacturer's instructions.
