Rat Aldehyde dehydrogenase, cytosolic 1 (Aldh1a7) ELISA Kit

The assay is reactive with rat and accepts serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, with specificity for natural and recombinant rat ALDH1A7.

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 78-5000pg/ml and a sensitivity of 40.6pg/mL. Intra-assay CV is 5.3% and inter-assay CV is 6.3%. Linearity has been demonstrated in serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma across serial dilutions, and recovery is reported at 80-86% for serum and 80-88% for plasma.

ALDH1A7 is an enzyme involved in aldehyde metabolism, with roles in oxidative stress response and detoxification processes. The protein functions as a homotetramer located in the cytoplasm, and can oxidize benzaldehyde, propionaldehyde and acetaldehyde, with no detectable activity with retinal. Dysregulation of ALDH1A7 has been implicated in cancer, liver diseases, and neurological disorders.
