Quantitative immunoassay from Assay Genie for measuring Alcohol Dehydrogenase 7 (ADH7) protein in rat specimens with a colorimetric readout. The kit is configured for use with blood-derived fractions and tissue homogenate preparations from rodent experimental models.
ADH7, classified as a Class IV alcohol dehydrogenase and also termed sigma-ADH or stomach ADH, plays a role in the first-pass oxidation of ethanol and in retinoic acid biosynthesis. The enzyme is highly expressed in rat gastric mucosa, esophageal epithelium, oral mucosa, and corneal tissue, where researchers use this kit to evaluate alcohol metabolism, retinoid handling, and tissue responses to xenobiotic exposure.
Reagents are supplied in a 96-assay microplate configuration with all components needed to generate standard curves and quantify ADH7 across experimental conditions. Each kit is intended for research use only and supports studies of hepatic function, ethanol-induced tissue injury, oxidative stress, and the metabolism of vitamin A derivatives in rodent systems.
