Rat Aggrecan core protein (Acan) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative measurement of Aggrecan core protein (ACAN) in rat samples. The assay uses colorimetric detection and recognises natural and recombinant rat Aggrecan core protein. Acceptable sample types include serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. Listed synonyms for the target are Cartilage-specific proteoglycan core protein, CSPCP, Agc and Agc1.

Performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.78-50 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.398 ng/mL, with an intra-assay CV of 4.9% and an inter-assay CV of 9.0%. Linearity in serum (N=5) ranges from 94% to 117% across dilutions of 1:2 to 1:16; EDTA plasma (N=5) ranges from 85% to 110%; and heparin plasma (N=5) ranges from 97% to 123%. Recovery averages 89% (83-95%) for serum and 91% (85-97%) for plasma. Aggrecan is a major component of the extracellular matrix of cartilaginous tissues, resisting compression in cartilage, binding hyaluronic acid via an N-terminal globular region, and may play a regulatory role in cartilage matrix assembly.
