Rat Advanced glycation end-product/AGE ELISA Kit

A colorimetric Sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie enables quantitative measurement of advanced glycation end products (AGEs) in rat-derived samples. The double-antibody sandwich format reports a sensitivity of 0.188 ng/mL across a working range of 0.313-20 ng/mL. Compatible specimens include serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysates and other liquid samples, and the kit is intended for storage at 2-8°C for 12 months.

Published linearity for serum (n=5) spans 91-103% at a 1:2 dilution, 85-103% at 1:4 and 87-104% at 1:8; EDTA plasma (n=5) shows 87-97%, 85-100% and 83-101% at the same dilutions; heparin plasma (n=5) yields 83-97%, 83-94% and 82-97%. Recovery averages are reported at 96% for serum (range 86-105%), 94% for EDTA plasma (range 87-102%) and 92% for heparin plasma (range 88-103%). The workflow comprises reagent and plate equilibration, primary incubation at 37°C for 90 minutes, biotin-labelled detection antibody binding for 60 minutes, HRP-streptavidin binding for 30 minutes, TMB colour development in the dark for 10-20 minutes, and absorbance reading at 450 nm after stop solution addition.

Sample preparation guidance covers serum (allow blood to clot and centrifuge at 1000 × g for 20 minutes), plasma (collect using anticoagulant tubes and centrifuge at 1000 × g for 15 minutes at 2-8°C), tissue homogenisation in PBS with protease inhibitors, clarification of cell culture supernatant, and lysis of cells with protease inhibitors.
