Description

Designed for the precise quantification of Adrenergic Receptor Beta 1 (ADRB1) levels in rat samples, this Sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie uses a double-antibody detection method. It is validated for serum, plasma, and cell culture supernatants, and is positioned as a tool for cardiovascular and sympathetic nervous system research, where ADRB1 plays a critical role in heart rate and contractility.

Performance characteristics include a sensitivity of 46.875pg/ml, an assay range of 78.125-5000pg/ml, and reliable precision with intra-assay CV <8% and inter-assay CV <10%. Recovery rates from spiked matrices were 86-99% for serum (average 92%), 86-98% for EDTA plasma (average 92%), and 85-98% for UFH plasma (average 92%). Dilutional linearity across 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8 dilutions ranged from approximately 80% to 105% across the same three matrices. The kit should be stored at 4°C for 6 months and is for research use only. The protocol uses a biotinylated detection antibody, an SABC working solution, a TMB substrate step, and a final readout of O.D. absorbance at 450 nm.

The target analyte corresponds to the rat beta-1 adrenergic receptor (UniProt: P18090; NCBI Gene ID: 24925) with a molecular weight of 50,472 Da. ADRB1 mediates catecholamine-induced activation of adenylate cyclase through the action of G proteins, binds epinephrine and norepinephrine with approximately equal affinity, and mediates Ras activation through G(s)-alpha- and cAMP-mediated signaling. Dysregulation of ADRB1 has been linked to cardiovascular diseases, supporting its value as a biomarker.
