Description

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie for the quantitative measurement of rat Adenosine deaminase (ADA), also referred to as adenosine aminohydrolase. The kit detects natural and recombinant rat Adenosine deaminase and is validated for use with rat samples. Recommended sample types include serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids.

Performance characteristics include a detection range of 78-5000pg/mL, a sensitivity of 40.6pg/mL, an intra-assay CV of 5.4% and an inter-assay CV of 8.8%. Linearity has been characterised across serial 1:2 to 1:16 dilutions of serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma samples. Recovery is reported for serum (average 88%, range 82-94%) and plasma (average 90%, range 84-96%). Detection is by colorimetric ELISA with absorbance read at 450 nm.

Rat adenosine deaminase is an enzyme involved in purine metabolism and adenosine homeostasis that catalyses the hydrolytic deamination of adenosine and 2-deoxyadenosine. The protein is catalogued as UniProt Q920P6 (NCBI Gene ID 24165) with a molecular weight of 39,899 Da. It localises to the cell membrane, cell junctions, cytoplasmic vesicle lumen, cytoplasm and lysosome, and interacts with DPP4 and PLG. The kit is listed under the research area of Epigenetics and is for research use only.
