Rat ACHE/Acetylcholinesterase ELISA Kit

Designed for the quantitative measurement of acetylcholinesterase (ACHE) in rat samples, this Sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie uses a double-antibody format with colorimetric readout. The assay has a sensitivity of 0.469 ng/mL and a working range of 0.781-50 ng/mL, and accepts serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. Reagents are stored at 2-8°C for 12 months.

ACHE hydrolyses the neurotransmitter acetylcholine, and dysregulation of ACHE activity has been linked to Alzheimer's disease, myasthenia gravis, and organophosphate poisoning, supporting applications in neuroscience research and therapeutic development. Validated linearity at the 1:2 dilution spans 85-104% for serum, 87-99% for EDTA plasma and 87-105% for heparin plasma, with mean spike-recoveries of 93% (serum), 95% (EDTA plasma) and 97% (heparin plasma).

The workflow includes a 90-minute primary incubation at 37°C, a 60-minute biotinylated detection antibody step, a 30-minute HRP-streptavidin binding step, and 10-20 minutes of TMB colour development in the dark, before stopping and reading absorbance at 450 nm.
