Rat Acetylcholine Receptor Antibody/ACHRAB ELISA Kit

Assay Genie provides a Sandwich ELISA kit, configured with a double antigen detection format, that is designed to quantify acetylcholine receptor antibodies (AChRab) in rat-derived samples. It is intended for use with serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. Acetylcholine receptors are described as playing a critical role in mediating the transmission of nerve impulses within the central and peripheral nervous systems, and their dysregulation has been linked to a range of neurological disorders. The kit is therefore positioned as a tool for research into the role of acetylcholine receptors in neurological disease and the evaluation of potential therapeutic interventions.

The assay is reported by the manufacturer with a sensitivity of 37.5 pmol/L and a working range of 62.5–4000 pmol/L. Published linearity figures (n=5) for serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma at 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8 dilutions fall between 80% and 104%. Average recovery values are reported as 93% for serum, 95% for EDTA plasma and 92% for heparin plasma. The procedure uses a TMB colorimetric substrate with absorbance read at 450 nm, and the kit is supplied to be stored sealed at 2–8°C, with cryopreservation to be avoided.
