The HSD3b1 enzyme is a steroidogenic catalyst that converts pregnenolone, 17-hydroxypregnenolone, and dehydroepiandrosterone into their respective ketosteroid intermediates, an essential step in adrenal and gonadal biosynthesis of progesterone and downstream corticosteroids. Assay Genie's two-site immunometric workflow targets rat HSD3b1 with species-specific antibodies validated exclusively for rat specimens, distinguishing the target from paralog HSD3b2 expressed in the same tissues.
