Rabbit TIMP2/Metalloproteinase inhibitor 2 ELISA Kit

Assay Genie offers a sandwich ELISA, double antibody kit designed for the accurate detection of TIMP2 (Metalloproteinase Inhibitor 2) levels in rabbit samples. The kit is reactive with rabbit and accepts serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. Detection is colorimetric with a sensitivity of 0.469 ng/mL and a working range of 0.781–50 ng/mL. Reagents should be stored at 2–8°C for up to 12 months.

TIMP2 is a protein that inhibits metalloproteinases, enzymes that play a role in extracellular matrix degradation and tissue remodeling. Dysregulation of TIMP2 has been linked to conditions including cancer, inflammation, and cardiovascular diseases, making accurate quantification valuable for related research. The kit employs a biotin-labelled detection antibody with HRP-Streptavidin (SABC) and TMB substrate, with absorbance read at 450 nm after addition of stop solution.

Assay performance has been characterised by linearity and recovery across serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma. Linearity ranges (n = 5) at 1:2, 1:4, and 1:8 dilutions were 87–105%, 85–96%, and 81–96% for serum; 88–104%, 86–99%, and 82–100% for EDTA plasma; and 85–101%, 86–98%, and 81–91% for heparin plasma. Recovery ranges with averages were 86–105% (97%) for serum, 93–100% (98%) for EDTA plasma, and 87–102% (92%) for heparin plasma.
