Description

From Assay Genie, this double-antibody sandwich ELISA enables quantitative measurement of Rabbit TIMP1 (Metalloproteinase Inhibitor 1) across serum, plasma, cell culture supernatants, cell or tissue lysates, and other liquid samples, with a colorimetric readout. TIMP1 is a key regulator of metalloproteinases—enzymes involved in tissue remodeling and extracellular matrix degradation—and imbalances in TIMP1 have been associated with cancer, inflammation, and fibrosis, supporting its relevance as a potential therapeutic target and diagnostic marker.

Reported sensitivity is 18.75 pg/mL, with an assay range of 31.25–2000 pg/mL, and the kit is stored at 2–8 °C for 12 months. Linearity across 1:2, 1:4, and 1:8 dilutions spans 80–105% for serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma (n=5). Recovery averages 95% in serum (range 87–105%), 94% in EDTA plasma (range 86–101%), and 92% in heparin plasma (range 87–96%).

The procedure uses a pre-coated plate: equilibrate reagents and TMB substrate to room temperature and set up standards, samples, and zero controls; incubate at 37 °C for 90 minutes; add biotin-labeled detection antibody and incubate at 37 °C for 60 minutes; add HRP-Streptavidin (SABC) and incubate at 37 °C for 30 minutes; develop with TMB substrate in the dark for 10–20 minutes; and add stop solution before reading absorbance at 450 nm.
