Myoglobin is an iron- and oxygen-binding protein found in cardiac and skeletal muscle, and it is widely used in veterinary and comparative cardiovascular research as a circulating biomarker of muscle injury, rhabdomyolysis, and myocardial tissue stress. The Assay Genie Rabbit Myoglobin (MYO) ELISA Kit is a quantitative immunoassay built to measure this protein in rabbit-derived samples, supporting kinetic and endpoint studies of myoglobin release following experimental ischemia, exertion, or drug-induced myotoxicity.

The two-antibody format pairs a capture antibody with a detection antibody specific to rabbit myoglobin, enabling measurement across multiple sample matrices relevant to small-animal and rabbit-model studies. Each kit provides 96 individual assay determinations and is supplied as a complete research-use-only package with pre-coated wells, calibrators, and detection reagents, supporting medium-throughput workflows on standard plate-based equipment.

Typical applications include:

  • Quantifying myoglobin in serum-type samples, plasma-type samples, and various biological specimen types relevant to the study design
  • Following biomarker kinetics in rabbit models of cardiac injury, skeletal-muscle damage, or pharmacological challenge
  • Supporting comparative cardiovascular, exercise-physiology, and muscle-damage investigations

Store the kit refrigerated and protect components from light until first use; allow plates and reagents to equilibrate to room temperature before running the assay. The procedure produces an absorbance-based endpoint read on a standard microplate reader, and the kit is restricted to in vitro research use only — not validated for diagnostic or clinical patient-care decisions.
