Rabbit MMP-13 ELISA Kit

Assay Genie provides a Sandwich ELISA, Double Antibody kit designed for the precise measurement of matrix metalloproteinase 13 (MMP-13) in rabbit serum, plasma, and tissue culture supernatants. The kit is intended for research use only and supports studies of MMP-13 biology, an enzyme involved in extracellular matrix degradation and tissue remodeling whose dysregulation has been associated with pathological conditions such as arthritis, cancer, and cardiovascular diseases.

The assay has a sensitivity of 1.875ng/ml and a measuring range of 3.125-200ng/ml. Reported recovery averages were 96% for serum (range 86-104%), 92% for EDTA plasma (range 86-97%), and 95% for UFH plasma (range 89-104%). Linearity across serial dilutions was demonstrated for serum (87-101% to 92-101%), EDTA plasma (85-97% to 83-100%), and UFH plasma (82-93% to 84-99%). Intra-assay precision is CV <8% and inter-assay precision is CV <10%. The kit should be stored at 4°C for 6 months.

MMP-13, also known by the aliases CLG3, MANDP1, and Collagenase 3, plays a role in the degradation of extracellular matrix proteins including fibrillar collagen, fibronectin, TNC and ACAN, with highest activity against soluble type II collagen, and is implicated in wound healing, tissue remodeling, cartilage degradation, bone development, and ossification.
