The chemokine assay targets the approximately 8 kDa pro-inflammatory cytokine IL-8 (also called CXCL8) in rabbit serum, plasma, or cell culture supernatant, with a typical working sensitivity around 5 pg/mL and a standard curve detection range of 15.6 to 1000 pg/mL using 100 µL of sample per well. The DIY configuration gives researchers flexibility in plate type, coating density, and sample throughput, and the rabbit-specific antibody pair is selected to minimize cross-reactivity with mouse, rat, or human IL-8 homologs.
