Description

A colorimetric Sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative detection of ALCAM/CD166 in rabbit samples. The assay is specific for rabbit reactivity and is validated for use with serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. ALCAM (CD166) is a cell adhesion molecule involved in cell-cell adhesion and signaling pathways, with roles in immune response, tumor metastasis, and inflammation.

Manufacturer-quoted performance figures include a sensitivity of 0.469 ng/mL and a working range of 0.781–50 ng/mL. Reported linearity (n=5) for serum is 87–102%, 86–102%, and 94–105% at 1:2, 1:4, and 1:8 dilutions respectively; EDTA plasma shows 82–98%, 85–94%, and 82–100%; and heparin plasma shows 87–95%, 95–100%, and 83–99%. Recovery ranges are 86–103% (average 96%) for serum, 90–105% (average 98%) for EDTA plasma, and 92–103% (average 95%) for heparin plasma.

The procedure involves reagent and plate preparation, primary incubation at 37°C for 90 minutes, biotin-labeled detection antibody binding at 37°C for 60 minutes, HRP-streptavidin binding at 37°C for 30 minutes, TMB color development in the dark for 10–20 minutes, and a stop reaction with absorbance reading at 450 nm. The assay is supplied in a solid-phase format and should be stored at 2–8°C for 12 months. The associated UniProt identifier is O46651, with known synonyms ALCAM, CD166, CD166 antigen, and MEMD.
