QuickStep Sheep E3 (Estriol) ELISA Kit

A competitive ELISA kit from Assay Genie enables quantitative measurement of estriol (E3) in sheep serum and plasma samples. Designed for in vitro determination of E3 concentrations, the assay uses the Competitive-ELISA principle with a micro ELISA plate pre-coated with Sheep E3. Samples or standards are added together with an HRP-linked detection antibody specific for Sheep E3; analyte in the sample competes with the coated antigen for binding sites. After washing, substrate is added, the reaction is stopped, and the optical density is read at 450 ± 2 nm, with Sheep E3 concentration determined by comparison to the standard curve.

The kit is reactive with sheep samples, with no significant cross-reactivity or interference between E3 and analogues reported, and the manufacturer recommends running undiluted sheep serum and plasma samples. Sensitivity is 1.32 pg/mL and the assay range is 3.13–200 pg/mL, with an overall recovery of 80%–120%. Reproducibility is supported by intra-assay and inter-assay CV values of less than 10%, and recovery in serum is 92–107% (average 98%) while EDTA plasma recovery is 92–109% (average 100%). Total assay time is 1.5 hours using a colorimetric detection method.

An unopened kit can be stored at 2–8°C for 6 months. Components supplied include a dismountable micro ELISA plate (8 wells × 12 strips), reference standard, concentrated HRP-linked detection antibody, reference standard and sample diluent, HRP-linked antibody diluent, concentrated wash buffer, substrate reagent, stop solution, plate sealers, a product description booklet, and a certificate of analysis.
