QuickStep Chicken Pg (Progesterone) ELISA Kit

Assay Genie's QuickStep Chicken Progesterone ELISA Kit is a competitive enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay intended for the in vitro quantitative determination of progesterone (Pg) concentrations in chicken serum and plasma samples. The assay uses a microplate pre-coated with Chicken Pg, to which samples or standards and an Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP)-linked detection antibody are added; Pg in the sample competes with the coated Pg for binding sites on the HRP-linked antibody. Following incubation, washing, and the addition of substrate and stop solution, the optical density is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 ± 2 nm, and the Pg concentration is determined by comparing the sample OD to a standard curve.

The kit reports a sensitivity of 0.06 ng/mL and an assay range of 0.16-10 ng/mL, with intra-assay and inter-assay coefficients of variation both stated as < 10%. Recovery in serum (n=8) ranges from 90% to 104% with an average of 98%, and recovery in EDTA plasma (n=8) ranges from 89% to 102% with an average of 95%; overall recovery is reported within 80%-120%. The kit shows no significant cross-reactivity or interference between Pg and analogues, and the recommended assay time is 1.5 hours. An unopened kit can be stored at 2-8°C for 6 months.
