PSEN1 Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit

Designed by Assay Genie for the qualitative detection of PSEN1 (presenilin-1) protein expression in cultured adherent cells, this in-cell ELISA kit works without the need for lysate preparation. Presenilin-1 plays a role in amyloid precursor protein processing, and mutations in the PSEN1 gene have been linked to early-onset familial Alzheimer's disease, making it a relevant biomarker for neurodegeneration research. The indirect ELISA format uses PSEN1-specific primary antibodies to capture the target, with HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies catalyzing a colorimetric reaction on substrate addition, read at 450 nm.

The kit is reactive against human PSEN1 with a dynamic range of > 5000 Cells and is supplied in a microplate format suited to high-throughput screening of treatments, inhibitors (such as siRNA or chemicals), or activators on PSEN1 levels. Storage is at 4°C with a stated stability of 6 Months. Two normalisation approaches are included: an anti-GAPDH monoclonal antibody serves as an internal positive control for normalising target absorbance values, and a Crystal Violet whole-cell staining step enables cell-density normalisation to correct for plating differences.
