Progesterone Receptor Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit

A colorimetric cell-based ELISA kit from Assay Genie is designed for the precise detection of progesterone receptor levels in cell culture samples. The assay uses a lysate-free, indirect ELISA format in which the progesterone receptor is captured by target-specific primary antibodies and detected with HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies, which catalyze a colorimetric reaction measured at 450 nm.

Reactivity is to human samples, with a dynamic range of > 5000 cells. A monoclonal anti-GAPDH antibody is included to serve as an internal positive control for normalizing target absorbance values, and a Crystal Violet whole-cell staining method can be used to determine cell density so that plating differences can be adjusted. The kit is suited for measuring relative progesterone receptor levels in cultured cells and for screening the effects of treatments, inhibitors such as siRNA or chemicals, or activators on receptor expression. The progesterone receptor (gene symbol PGR; UniProt P06401) is a member of the steroid receptor superfamily that mediates the physiological effects of progesterone.

Storage and stability are specified at 4°C for 6 months. The assay is intended for use with adherent cells.
