Type I collagen biosynthesis starts with a soluble procollagen precursor that is cleaved before fibril formation; researchers investigating that process in rat models rely on this 96-assay colorimetric ELISA from Assay Genie to quantify the intact propeptide across rat-derived sample matrices such as blood plasma, serum fractions, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, and cell culture supernatant. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between PCI and analogous analytes was observed.
