Quantitative Detection of Porcine VCAM1

VCAM1 (Vascular Cell Adhesion Molecule 1) is an immunoglobulin-like cell surface glycoprotein expressed on activated endothelial cells, where it mediates adhesion of leukocytes during inflammatory and immune responses. As a key biomarker in vascular biology and inflammation research, quantifying VCAM1 levels in porcine models supports translational studies of cardiovascular disease, transplant immunology, and inflammatory disorders.

This Assay Genie immunoassay kit is configured for 96 individual determinations and is intended for research use only. The kit enables quantitative measurement of VCAM1 in serum samples, plasma samples, tissue homogenates, and other relevant biological sample types from swine. Reagents are supplied in a ready-to-use configuration with a detailed protocol to support reproducible results across experiments.

VCAM1, also known as CD106, plays a critical role in leukocyte recruitment to sites of inflammation through interaction with integrin α4β1 (VLA-4) on lymphocytes, monocytes, and eosinophils. Studies in porcine models have made substantial contributions to understanding VCAM1-mediated mechanisms in atherosclerosis, ischemia-reperfusion injury, and transplant rejection, making this kit a useful tool for researchers working in these areas.
