Porcine Prolactin (PRL) ELISA Kit

Manufactured by Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA Kit provides a colorimetric assay for the quantitative detection of porcine prolactin (PRL). It is validated for use with pig serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, and is specific for natural and recombinant pig prolactin. Reported performance includes a detection range of 78-5000pg/ml and a sensitivity of 31pg/ml, with absorbance measured at 450 nm on a standard microplate reader.

Prolactin (UniProt P01238) is a secreted hormone, ~25 kDa, that acts primarily on the mammary gland by promoting lactation, and altered levels are studied as biomarkers in reproductive, metabolic and immune-related research. Dilutional linearity has been characterised across 1:2 to 1:16 for serum (ranges of 103-111%, 106-115%, 103-114% and 96-106%; N=5), EDTA plasma (95-105%, 98-106%, 111-120% and 87-98%; N=5) and heparin plasma (103-115%, 86-95%, 99-108% and 117-127%; N=5).
