Plasminogen (PLG) is the circulating zymogen precursor of plasmin, the serine protease responsible for fibrin clot breakdown. Pig is widely used as a translational model in vascular biology, hemostasis, and fibrinolysis studies, making a porcine-specific PLG immunoassay valuable for tracking fibrinolytic pathway activity in swine samples.
