Description

Assay Genie provides a Sandwich ELISA Kit for the quantitative measurement of Muellerian-inhibiting factor (AMH), also referred to as anti-Muellerian hormone or Muellerian-inhibiting substance (MIS), in porcine samples. The assay shows reactivity with pig and accepts serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids. The kit reports a detection range of 0.312-20ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.091ng/mL, and is intended for research use only.

AMH is a glycoprotein produced by the Sertoli cells of the testis that causes regression of the Muellerian duct and is able to inhibit the growth of tumors derived from tissues of Muellerian duct origin. The protein is described as a key regulator of reproductive development, with implications in conditions such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and disorders of sexual development. The native protein is a disulfide-linked homodimer that is secreted, with UniProt reference P79295 and a molecular weight of 61,505 Da. Specificity covers natural and recombinant pig Muellerian-inhibiting factor. Storage conditions for kit components are detailed in the product documentation, with most reagents stored at -20°C.
